These little guys were so fun! I had never heard of them before making them so I did a little research to understand what it was I was making.

Apparently these are a French pastry and best served warm. Deb mentions that this is the best thing to bring to a party people just gobble them up. I was a little uncertain how to keep them warm because I felt like mine cooled down quite a bit after baking… Not sure if they would be as delicious if it’s out on the table for too long.

They make up quite a bit so they would really be good for a crowd…The problem is one person could eat all of them in one sitting. It’s quite possible I know from experience….
I might put these on any kind of a cheese tray that you were putting out because they’re peppery and blue cheesy. Having one of these with some salami or sausage would be a very nice bite.

Okay, so you’ll use both your stovetop and mixer to work this dough in stages before you put it in your piping bag and then pipe onto your baking tray. I recommend using your stand mixer if you have one to get all of the ingredients well incorporated.

I think I piped mine a little smaller than they were supposed to be so I ended up with more then the recipe suggests. No complaining over here!

I suspect that you could make these with a different cheese if you were not a fan of blue cheese. I’m a little more partial to goat cheese so my thought is maybe adding goat cheese in next time and maybe doing a different herb like dill in place of pepper.

These are just a fun little something to do if you’re having people over or you want people to have a little something to munch on while you’re finishing up a meal. Because they do taste better warm I don’t know if I would make these on a night where I was trying to get a bunch of things out because I’m afraid they would get lost in the shuffle or get cold and not very tasty. So they would really make a nice appetizer to any dinner you’re making.
Give these a try! You’ll have fun with them :)
